Has anyone stayed at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Vegas? Gimme your reviews - I'm staying there next week!
These are two great sources of reviews on LV hotels.

I hope you're not expecting a well organized, well thought out review, I'm just going to ramble on and tell you what I know about the Riviera
Nickel Town for low limit slots & Hound Doggies, for inexpensive fast food, I like both of these, Hound Doggies sort of reminds me of a fifties diner. They will have live music in the NT/HD area sometimes, you know, poodle skirts and 50's music…
Kady's Coffee Shop - There are a couple of restaurants, one steakhouse and one Italian but the best place to eat at the Riviera is Kady's - Oh yea, and stay away from the buffet, it's the worst in LV, and way over priced.
If you want a reasonable price buffet, especially for breakfast Palace Station is your best bet. For the money the PS breakfast buffet is the best($5.99 with a "boarding pass" players club card)
Riviera - food court - best option after Kady's - KFC, Pizza Hut, Quizno's, Chinese & Mexican.
Both the Trolley and the Deuce stop at the Riviera - The Trolley is convenient if you want to go over to the Las Vegas Hilton. The Trolley picks up near the South Lobby and will drop you right at the LVH sports book. >The Deuce is the better option for all other strip travel.
Shows - the Riviera does have good entertainment - Ice is supposed to be really good(I have not seen this one yet) The Comedy Club is really good, Crazy Girls is okay, La Cage not my thing but Frank(ie) Marino is one of the stars of LV he plays Joan Rivers and has for many-many years. If you're a Neil Diamond fan Jay White is really good. >It's close between Jay & Trent Carlini(Elvis-Sahara) as to which is the best impersonator. >I miss "Splash" that was a great show<
Gambling - They do have a few scattered quarter 9/7 DB(99.1%) & 9/6 DDB(99%) video poker machines - The best bet if you're a low limit player is to go to the LV Hilton and play their nickel 9/6 JOB(99.5%) VP in their sports book, there are 27 machines all bunched together on the North end of the sports book.
Slot club - $1 = 1 point on the slots - $2 = 1 point on VP - 300 points = $1 cash back - at least until you reach 15,000 points then CB doubles.
Comps - The Riviera is not very good about discretionary comps - If you want to play low limit table games and get comped for your play, go to Palace Station.
The Riviera has 5 towers, if you're staying in the South Tower, San Remo Tower or the Monaco Tower the views are better if you ask for a room that faces South. If you're in the North tower or the Monte Carlo Tower you're better off with a North facing room. >IMO the South towers have a better view.
As long as you're not expecting your room to look like a suite at the Venetian or Bellagio, and are happy with a clean place to sleep you should not be disappointed. The Riviera does show her age though. I was in LV(6/4 - 7/5 - 31 nights) and did drop in a couple of times - What can I say, I like the chili dogs at Hound Doggies.
Hope this helps a little, and have a great trip.
